इतनी तीव्र थी बुभुक्षा कि मैं फूल चबाती थी अड़हुल के
वहीं जहाँ गूँथते थे तुम गजरे मेरे केशों के लिए
और मेरी आँखों में घुले काजल पर रीझ-रीझ उठते थे
आसमान से गिरती थीं बूँदे और धूल में मिल जाती थीं
धूल से ही भरी थी एड़ियाँ जिन्हें थाम लेते थे हथेली में
उठती थी तो कलाई थाम लेते थे तुम
न जाने की लगाते थे गुहार
साये की तरह संग-संग डोलते थे
मुझको देखते थे जीवन के सबसे सुंदर दृश्य की तरह
तुम्हारे सीने में फड़फड़ाते कबूतर फूल उठते थे मेरी गरदन की नसें देखकर
कलाई की नीली नसें तुम्हारा मन मोहती थीं
इतनी तीव्र उठती थी कामना कि तुम से मुझ तक घुमड़ती थी
पानी से भरी बदली बनकर
फिर भी कब जूठे किए थे होंठ... कभी भी तो नहीं
रहे प्यास से भरे बरसों और वैसे ही छूट गए थे एक रोज़
हम कब उतरे थे उस मधुवन में
जहाँ संसार उतर जाता है क्षण भर में।

phir bhi kab juthe kiye the honth kabhi bhi to nahin
rahe pyas se bhare barson aur waise hi chhoot gaye the ek roz
hum kab utre the us madhuwan mein
jahan sansar utar jata hai kshan bhar mein
